Spatial Memory //.

Spatial Memory is an installation that consists of a video feed, video playback and 3 momentary switches. The project documents the memory of the installation space. When a button is pressed, an image is immediately captured and is saved to that specific button's memory for future playback. The video feeds of the other two buttons are then displayed. This specific configuration assigns two states, present and past. The button that was last pressed acts as the current space, or the present state, and the other two buttons have video playback, representing the memory of those specific past spaces.

This space analysis is derived from a quote by Marcel Proust, who said, "A memory is only as real as the last time you remembered it. The more you remember something, the less accurate it becomes."
